CURRICULUM VITAE

CLAUDIO GENNARO

EDUCATION

Claudio Gennaro received the "Laurea" degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1994. Thesis title: Design and implementation of a tool for the analysis and simulation of real time scheduling algorithms.

Master Degree in Information Technology at CEFRIEL of Milan (length 10 months).

He received PhD Degree in Computer Engineering and Automatica in 1999 from Politecnico di Milano. Thesis title: Integrated Models for SIMD, MIMD and Hybrid Parallel Archtectures.

CURRENT POSITION

Researcher at ISTI (Information Science and Technology Institute) of the CNR of Pisa.

SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS

Access Structures for Metric Spaces, Peer-to-Peer Systems, Digital Libraries, Model of Metadata for Audio/Video, Performance Evaluation, Queue Networks Models, Parallel Computing.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Multimedia information retrieval, Web search engines and library automation.

Integrating HPF in SkIE a parallel scheleton based language developed by the QSW of Pisa.

During the Master I worked on Multimedia research, developing a Tele-Conference medical application running on X Window and Windows 95. Through this tool physician can cooperate for diagnosis production.

For my Engineering Degree I worked at the Scuola Superiore di Studi Universitari e Perfezionamento S. Anna of Pisa. There I worked on a CEE project (TRACS - ESPRIT III Project N.6373). The goal of the project was to investigate how advanced functionalities can be added to complex traffic control systems, such as VTS’s (Vessel Traffic Control). In particular I designed and implemented a tool for the analysis and simulation of the real-time tasks. This tool is fundamental in the real-time programming environment.
